I’m sharing a side project I originally hacked together just for myself.
I was updating my resume recently and got completely fed up with fighting Google Docs over margins and page breaks. I just wanted a hyper-clean, single-column PDF that I knew for a fact wouldn't get scrambled when a literal-minded applicant tracking system (like Workday or Taleo) tried to parse the text layers.
So, I built a ridiculously strict generator.
It has exactly one column. It only uses basic, web-safe fonts. It will absolutely not let you add a 3D pie chart of your Python skills. It's aggressively unsexy by design, but it spits out a pristine PDF that a parsing algorithm can actually read.
Under the hood:
It’s built with Astro, React, and Tailwind.
The whole thing runs locally in your browser. When you hit download, it generates the PDF entirely client-side. There is no database saving your employment history or contact info, mostly because I didn't want to bother building or paying for a backend just to host my own resume.

I figured since the code was already written, I’d throw it up on a domain in case anyone else here is job hunting and just wants a fast, standard PDF without wrestling with Word formatting.
It's completely free and there are no sign-ups.
Feel free to roast the UI, inspect the PDF output, or let me know if I missed a massive edge-case in how I'm handling the text layers.
