How do weekly launches work?
Each launch period runs Monday through Sunday. Approved products appear on the home page for that week, accumulate votes and comments, and finish ranked. Winners earn a permanent winner badge and remain discoverable on category and launch-period pages.
Is Smol Launch free?
Yes. Plain free submissions are capped at 10 a week and badge-verified launches are also free, with 30 slots a week. Both caps are platform-wide pools shared by every maker, not per-maker allowances. Premium and the yearly Maker Pass skip badge work. Launch Everywhere is a separate $99 directory-submission service, and Featured Spots are separate advertising.
What does the ranking score consider?
The score considers engagement velocity (votes and comments over time), maker reputation (karma earned across launches), content quality signals on the listing, and fraud-detection heuristics. The exact weights are intentionally not published to limit gaming.
Who runs Smol Launch?
Smol Launch is operated by Smol Launch's editorial team. Submissions are reviewed by automated checks plus human moderation through an admin cockpit before they go live.
How are votes counted?
One vote per registered user per launch submission. Votes are de-duplicated, rate-limited, and fed into fraud-detection heuristics. Anonymous votes do not count toward rank.
What is karma?
Karma is a gamification system that rewards consistent participation — voting, commenting, and successful launches. Karma can be redeemed for perks like featured placement and contributes to the maker-reputation factor in the ranking algorithm.
How do I get featured?
